ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS LEARNING:
Class Instruction Using Video Conferencing
(Google Meet)
Students learn best by getting involved in the lesson. When students are asked to meet online for instruction - whether they are working from home all week or only a day or two - they must not only be on time but be actively engaged in the lesson. Otherwise, little learning will happen. Therefore, students must be willing to speak up, ask questions, and request help when needed. Parents must be actively monitoring their child's progress in the class. Teachers must be willing to work together with students and parents to help students succeed. If at any time, my students do not understand one of my online lessons, it is imperative that they ask me questions and/or speak to me or their parents about it as soon as possible. That way, we can all work together to ensure student success. Failure to contact me quickly and/or not be actively engaged in the class may lead to failure. Therefore, speak to me if you need to. I am here to help. |
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT GOOGLE MEET MEETINGS
STUDENTS: Make sure that you sign on with your First and Last name ONLY. Do not use fake names. Any student who signs on incorrectly will not be allowed to enter the session/meeting. Also, this is an online classroom. Therefore, no one may enter this meeting while in bed. You must be sitting up and wearing appropriate clothes, regardless of the early time in which we meet. Once you are admitted into the meeting, all netiquette rules found within the class syllabus and agendas must be followed. Anyone who doesn't follow these guidelines won't be admitted into or may be removed from the meeting, will need to complete the Weekly Status Survey, and will have their parents notified. Lastly, try to log on to the meeting at least 5 minutes early to make sure you are ready to start as soon as class begins. Thank you, and I will see you soon! |
ONLINE ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING: Schoolwork Online After
Class Instruction
(GOOGLE and VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS)
A number of apps will be used to complete homework assignments whether students are in class or online. Students will access both a Google and a Schoology course classroom in order to accomplish this. After each lesson (in class or online), students will go either to their Google Classroom or Schoology course and open up their assignments for the week. Below is a list of apps and websites that will most likely be used in and out of the classroom to complete all assignments or to communicate with me and the rest of the class. It is important that students download as many of these apps as possible to be successful. Also, just like with synchronous learning, if students are having trouble with an assignment, it is necessary to contact me right away in order to either try to fix the problem or find an alternative solution.
